Birthday Wishes

Celebrating my birthday today!

Skirt: C/O Dana-Maxx/ Top: Zara/ Shoes: Steve Madden
Coat: OASAP/ Necklace: Forever21/ Bracelets: Charming Charlie

I can't even believe that another year of my life has already passed by!  I'm really thankful and appreciative for all I have, especially my amazing family, friends and angel in Heaven.  This past year I experienced some of the best moments of my life and I am really looking forward to all that is still to come for me.  Last year my goals were to take more risks and step out of my comfort zone in all aspects.  And I did and I am proud of myself.  This year is going to be all about new beginnings and new experiences.  I want to do more and see more and be open to more in my life.  It's so important to challenge ourselves and continue to evolve.  Each birthday I reflect on the previous year to see what I accomplished, what my strengths and weaknesses were and what I can do to be better.  It's all about forward movement and learning more every single day.  Thank you all so much for the love & support that you show. It really means a lot to me.  Ok, I'll stop being all sentimental now haha.
Here's to a new year filled with health, love, happiness... and of course fashion!

I'm really looking forward to celebrating with my friends this weekend :) And you can come celebrate with me tomorrow at Dynamite at the Staten Island Mall 5-9pm.  Details HERE.

CHEERS!

Oxblood Love For 50 Shades Of Red

I think it's safe to say that I am in love with the oxblood color trend this season!  These pieces actually photographed a little brighter than their true shade.

Blazer: C/O Charlotte Russe (here)/ Skinny Jeans: C/O Habitual (here)
Top: Furor Moda/ Shoes: CharlieByMZ
Bag: Galian/ Earrings: Love Juliet/ Necklace: Gorjana Griffin

I really love creating the illusion of a suit with two matching pieces and I've been wanting to try it out with this color for awhile.  I think it's really chic and works for different occasions. Charlotte Russe is doing a 50 Shades Of Red Campaign since this is one of the hottest color trends of the season, so I was happy to take on the style challenge with one of their boyfriend blazers. (You know I'm all about blazers!)  It ended up matching almost perfectly with these Habitual skinny jeans so I knew that I needed to take advantage and finally create this "suit." It can be really difficult to match two completely different pieces this way so I got really lucky.  I have to say that these are superrrr skinnies but they are extremely comfortable with an unbelievable stretch!  I paired them with this loose fitted top (that has been a staple for me lately) and these classic black pumps.  I really love the gold detailing on the heels.

I initially wanted to add a pop of leopard print, but since I don't have a leopard print bag, I went with this studded one again since it's such a great statement piece.  I think it helped make the outfit pop even more.  And I'm actually wearing larger earrings too!  I always wear the same studs because typically I'm more of a "statement necklace" girl, but I think this was a nice change.  I just have to get used to them because they're a little heavy on my ears, but these are such a gorgeous pair.  And the finishing touch as always is the lipstick and here I combined Urban Decay Shame with Urban Decay Naked.

Make sure to check out my earlier post where I announced a fun shopping event that I am hosting this Thursday at Staten Island Mall.  On another note, my birthday is tomorrow! And I am finally getting a haircut this weekend :)

Have a wonderful day beauties <3

YOU'RE INVITED... DYNAMITE'S BEST DRESSED PARTY

You are invited to Dynamite's Best Dressed Party!

I recently introduced you all to Dynamite and that's because I've been working with them the past couple of weeks on a really fun shopping event! It will be held in 50 stores across Canada and the US but only 13 stores will have a blogger-hosted shopping party.  This will be my first time doing a shopping event like this so I am really looking forward to it, especially since it will be my first time at Dynamite.  Here is the full list of 13 bloggers along with the stores that we are hosting at.

I will be hosting at the Staten Island Mall this Thursday November 7th from 5-9pm.  It is the day after my birthday so come and celebrate with me if you are available and in the area!  You will receive 25% off your purchase and if you spend $60 or more, you will get a gift bag which includes some goodies like fragrance, holiday coasters and wine markers.  They're going to have treats & pastries, live tweeting for fun interaction with all of the bloggers and guests, and of course shopping! I'd love to meet some of you and of course shop together and take some pics! If you have already met me, then you know how much I love to talk :)

They're also going to have "blogger's styles pick racks" set up in the stores where we have each selected our top 10 favorite pieces in the store.  The racks will have our blog logos on them and you can shop our favorite picks too.  Pretty cool :)

If you come to the party, make sure to tag all your social media photos #DYNAMITEBESTDRESSED & don't forget to mention @DYNAMITESTYLE for a chance to win a grand prize.
If you aren't in my area, make sure to check out the participating locations here so you can still attend the party.  It's going to be lots of fun! I really hope to see some of you there. Let me know if you will be coming out! :)

Studded

I wore this a few days ago to lunch in Montclair.  It was definitely a nice change shooting somewhere else.  I thought this graffiti brick wall was really cool.  I love street art!  It was a beautiful day out but extremely windy.  In most of the photos my hair was all over the place and the shirt was clinging to my body lol but thankfully I had enough for a post!

Top: C/O Closet Piece/ Jeans: C/O Dittos
Bag: (gifted) Galian/ Booties: (here)Target
Bracelet: Mikay Love/ Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe

Leather and studs... just a few of the pieces that I'm really gravitating towards this season.  Once I fall for a particular trend or item, I am just hooked on it for awhile. I always say that the details of an outfit are the most important because they can totally transform the simplest look.  I really like the gold stud trim on this top.  I just decided to keep the whole outfit casual & edgy by pairing the shirt with distressed denim and my favorite booties.  Since I'm so short, I always have an issue with the length of skinny jeans.  I typically tuck them under like I did here or I cuff the bottoms.  I have no patience to bring them to the tailor!  Do any of my fellow petite girls do the same?

This bag was one of the gifted items that I got at Lucky FABB.  If you ever attend the conference, I highly suggest paying a little extra to have access to the gifting suite.  There were so many amazing brands and goodies to take home.  I'm completely obsessed with this bag because it actually comes with a removable clutch.  The studded piece zips right off and the bag even looks cute without the clutch too, so there's 3 ways to use this 1 piece.  I think it's genius! This bag will definitely be put to good use.

Stay tuned for a fun announcement coming tomorrow :)
Happy Monday!

Warby Parker Winter Collection

It's all about eyewear for today's first post.  I have horrible eyesight unfortunately and without my contacts I can barely see anything in front of me.  I honestly hate wearing them sometimes though because they always give me issues, especially when I go out at night. I am way overdue for a pair of glasses.  It's always been difficult for me to find both a stylish and affordable pair.  Usually the frames I love the most are super expensive and the ones I can afford aren't so great.  So that's where Warby Parker comes in!

Warby Parker, founded by 4 friends, is a stylish eyewear company who's main goal has been to provide high quality prescription eyewear at an affordable price. They wanted to be an alternative to the overpriced and bland eyewear that's available today.  Their aesthetic is vintage-inspired with a contemporary twist.  The best part though is that they are a company who gives back.  For every pair of glasses sold, they provide a pair to someone in need through their non-profit partners.  Amazing!  One of the founders, Neil Blumenthal, was a speaker at Lucky FABB.  Unfortunately I didn't get to sit in on that panel, but I heard it was really inspiring.

Today is actually the launch of their new Winter Collection which they describe as rustic meets modern.  This collection features six new shapes in five new colors in addition to some of their most stylish and dependable frames in cold winter hues.  All frames, including prescription lenses, are $95! If you take a look at their website, they explain how they're able to provide high-quality prescription glasses at this price.  I was intrigued!

Here are my top 5 picks from the new collection :)

Durand
Round lenses with a roomy width.

Edgeworth
1940s inspired frame with keyhole bridge.  The slender temple arms are crafted from Japanese titanium.

Lyle
A keyhole bridge with classic round frames.

Nash
Vintage shape with square frames.

Welty
Curved brow line, keyhole bridge and slim acetate construction.

These glasses make me want to curl up by the fire place (which I don't have) with a good book and a glass of wine! There is something so warm about them and I can see why they chose these colors and styles for winter.  When it comes to prescription glasses, I've always gravitated more towards square frames, but this collection has me looking at round lenses in a new way. You can check out the entire collection HERE.

And one more really cool thing about WP- they have a free home try-on program. All you have to do is pick your top 5 frames, they ship them to you for free and you have 5 days to try them out. Once you decide which one you like best, you order them online and ship back the 5 frames free of charge. They've made shopping for glasses from home so much easier!

If you're like me and have been searching for a great pair of glasses, then I really hope this post was helpful.  It's always nice being introduced to new brands, especially when they're affordable! Now you can do all things this winter in style ;)

Simply Stylist

Happy November!  I wore this to the Simply Stylist conference this past Sunday in the city.  It was another fun day meeting amazing new people and listening to some great speakers.

Skirt: (here) Forever21/ Top: (also love) Forever21/ Blazer: (here) H&M
Shoes: Prima Donna/ Necklace: OIA Jules/ Bracelet: Tanya Kara

So I completely messed up when taking these photos.  I actually wore the wrong shoes the first time and wanted to reshoot in the right ones.  The lighting was way better the first time which is why I don't have any full length shots standing up... and you might have noticed the nail polish color change.. haha Oh well I tried! I ended up finding this skirt and top the night before the conference and thought they would be perfect for the look that I was going for.  In case any of you want to get this skirt, just a heads up that it runs big.  Apparently the "love" items run a half size bigger than other F21 pieces. I love the print though.  This top is really sheer so thankfully I had a tank from H&M in the same color and wore it underneath.  That's always my solution for see through shirts.  This blazer is definitely coming in handy and I have a feeling it will be on the blog many more times. It's a great staple for sure.

I didn't get to take that many, but here are a couple of pics from Simply Stylist.

It was such a pleasure to meet Catt Sadler.  She was super sweet and humble.

The founder of Simply Stylist, Sarah.

Got to hang with the sweet Yessy from AMommiezFashionDiary.

And a huge thank you to Nikki from NowZenPR.  It was so amazing to finally meet you! Our photos came out too dark to post :(

I hope that you all have a fab weekend!
