Blue Leopard

Happy Monday, hope you all had a fun weekend!

Shirt (here), Jacket (here), Sunglasses (here): Furor Moda
Pants: H&M (also love)/ Shoes: Aldo (similar)/ Ring: C/O Berricle
 Necklace: C/O Blue Nile

To be honest, I wasn't really sure how I was going to style this top, but I really love the blue trend this season and decided to pair it with these navy pants for a casual look.  It's the same style top as the floral print one I wore a few days ago, so the print part is a silky material and the rest is a soft cotton.  Shirts like this are just so comfortable to wear.  To break up the blue and add another element, I went with this moto jacket which is actually perfect for the weather we have been having lately.  It's supposed to be in the 80s this week!  I wanted to make this outfit stand out a little more so decided to wear these mirrored sunglasses.  I don't wear silver jewelry too often, but it's definitely good to switch things up sometimes.  I love this XO necklace from BlueNile because it's so small and dainty making it the perfect simple piece to wear every day.  I don't really have many silver rings at all, so this marcasite one from Berricle is definitely a nice new addition for me.  It's a great statement ring that I will be wearing more often.

Thanks so much for stopping by loves, have a great day!

The New Neutral

Yay for Friday!  It's been a hectic week so I'm ending it with something comfy and casual.  I actually wore this last week, but I've been saving it for today to post :)

Cardigan: C/O Charlotte Russe (similar)/ Boyfriend Jeans: H&M (also love)
Tank: H&M/ Shoes: Love Culture (similar)/ Bag: Phillip Lim For Target

Most people associate Jersey girls with leopard print but I've never really worn it that much.  I have to admit though that I am liking it more and more.  I have another leopard print top coming to the blog next week and just recently got my first pair of leopard print shoes.  I think what's so great about it is that it basically acts a neutral leaving room for many styling options.  As much as I love pops of color and color blocking, there are times when I just want to be a little more low key and subtle.  A great way to do this is by sticking with neutral tones.  This cardigan is super soft and comfy, just like my boyfriend jeans!

One of my good friends, Maria, just started working with Origami Owl.  You can customize your own lockets and there are so many pieces to choose from. From the chain, to the charms, it's all personalized for you. She had this one made for me and I absolutely love it because it really describes me!  The photo does not do it justice.  It says "inspire" with 4 charms: a laptop with @ symbol to represent blogging & social media, a camera for the photos I take and because I love photography, a music note to represent my love for singing, and a heart because I obviously love all these things.  It also has my birthstone, topaz, hanging on the side.  These necklaces are truly one of a kind.  Make sure to check out Origami Owl whenever you get the chance. You can check out the facebook page here or send an email to charmylocket@gmail.com

On another note, getting this Phillip Lim for Target mini satchel was pure luck!  The retail stores by my house are closed on Sundays so I knew that Monday morning it would be complete madness.  My mom was down the shore over the weekend so I called her to ask if she could check out the Target down there just to see if by chance there were any left.  She ended up going at around 4 in the afternoon and headed straight for the handbag section because she didn't realize Phillip Lim's pieces would be in their own area.  She found this bag right away mixed in with all the other handbags and it was the last one!  It was literally waiting there for me.  These bags sold out in like 15 minutes at some Targets.  I've always loved his bags and realistically cannot afford them, so I am definitely happy with this super affordable mini version :)

Enjoy your weekend!
XO

A Love Affair With... Prints!

Happy Thursday dolls!  Hope you've all been having a great week so far.  I took these photos last week and have been so anxious to post because I really love these pants!  I was hoping that they would have come in time for fashion week but they ended up getting here 2 days after I left for the city.  Better late than never, right?

Pants: C/O SheInside/ Blazer (similar), Shirt, Bag: H&M/ Shoes: Aldo (similar)
Sunglasses: Target/ Necklace & Earrings: C/O Prima Donna
Cuff & Black Ring: C/O Gorjana Griffin

A common theme in my closet is a ton of printed pieces.  I've noticed lately how much I have been wearing them and I just can't seem to get enough.  I truly am having a love affair with them!  I've tried to experiment a little bit and wear prints that I haven't really worn before, like the one on these pants.  I'm all about taking a color in a particular print and bringing it out with another piece in my outfit.  So I decided to go for burgundy, which I am currently obsessing over this season.  This blazer was perfect.  I've already worn it three times and only got it the beginning of the month.  It was only $19.99!  This is why most of my blazers are from H&M.  The quality is great and the price point is even better.  I always get my moneys worth.  If you haven't noticed yet, I am all for white this fall.  I recently did a post on Fearless Fashionista explaining how to wear this trend!

I still have my NYFW Diary & recap of the shows, so I will probably put them together in a post soon. So stay tuned for that! :)

Have a great day loves!

One Last Summer Fling

It's officially time to bid adieu to summer and say hello to fall.  That means lots of layers and pumpkin spice lattes!  But over the weekend it was so beautiful out that I couldn't help but put together one more summery look.  I went to Hoboken with my mom to enjoy the day :)

Top: C/O Furor Moda/ Pants: Love Culture/ Shoes: Forever21
Bag: olivia + joy/ Necklace: C/O Lipstick Rose/ Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe
Cuff: C/O Gorjana Griffin

Of course you can still wear white and floral print this season, but this outfit definitely has a summer feel to it.  Initially I was going to pair the top with a black bottom, but decided against it when I saw how nice it was outside.  As much as I love fall, I am definitely going to miss the warmer weather.  The best part about this top is that it can be worn both casual and dressy.  The floral print is a very silky material and the grey part is such a soft cotton.   Since I typically always tuck my tops in, I wanted to leave this one out.  It's super comfy and I like the loose fit.

I have a habit of wearing statement necklaces with a printed top and the same thing happens every time I take photos.  It doesn't translate as well on camera as it looks in person.  But I fell in love with this necklace and just had to wear it with this outfit.  And the final touch was my bag to bring out the yellow in the print.  Years back I would have seen a yellow bag and thought that I would never use it.  But now, I can't even count how many times I have incorporated it into my looks.  It's such a great statement piece.
I realized lately when resizing my photos they aren't coming out as clear as usual.  Hopefully I can figure out the issue and have it fixed soon!

Just a little update: I was finally able to change my facebook page URL to match my blog's name.  When I first created the page this name was in use so I am so happy that I could finally switch it over.  The new URL is facebook.com/aloveaffairwithfashion

Have a great day!

Print Mix: Raising Awareness

Today's post is a special one because I've collaborated with PS I Adore You to help raise awareness for childhood cancer.   This is a cause that I hold close to my heart.

Blouse: C/O SheInside/ Jeans: H&M/ Shoes: C/O CharliebyMZ
Clutch: PS I Adore You/ Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe

As you all know, cancer is something that has made a huge impact in my life and is a disease that runs in my family.  If there is ever anything that I can do to help support the cause, I am all for it.
One of the owners of PS I Adore You has an 8 year old daughter, Cami, who just relapsed and is in need of a bone marrow transplant this October.  When they reached out to me with their story, I was so touched and of course more than willing to do this post and spread the word.  When you make a purchase on their site, you have the option to also make a donation to childhood cancer.  They even feature different families each month that are in need of donations.  For this month, the donations will go to Cami's foundation to help with her medical bills.  This clutch, which is currently 50% off, is just one of the many great deals/items that they have on their site.  You can even read about Cami's and other children's amazing stories on the PS blog.  I guarantee these stories will touch your heart just as they did mine.

When styling a look for their clutch, I thought this stripes & floral top was perfect because it represents something both bold (stripes) and delicate (florals).  Cancer is a very powerful disease and seeing first hand what it did to my father, I know how it can make the strongest person become so fragile at any age.  It's so important to raise awareness.  Too many people have been affected and too many lives have been taken.  I hope that you all take a few minutes to check out the PS site and possibly even make a donation.  Every little bit helps, especially when it might help save a life.

I hope you have an amazing day!

NYFW Day 7: Fall Florals

Finally, the last day of fashion week! All I have left is a recap of the shows and my diary post then it's back to regular outfit posts :) On the last day, I had the Nanette Lepore show in the morning.  I was anxious for it the whole week.  I actually ran out of outfits, so the day before I went shopping and got this dress.  It's funny because I almost got it before leaving to the city but decided not to get it.  When I saw it again and tried it on, I knew it was a must.

Half of these photos were taken at Lincoln Center as you can see and then I went to shoot a few pics with Grant by Central Park. I wanted to take advantage of the city before leaving. It was a fun last day!

Photos By Grant Legan

Dress: H&M (similar style)/ Shoes: Forever21(similar)/ Bag: OASAP (similar)
Necklace & Cuff: C/O Gorjana Griffin
Bangles: C/O BeBe (similar)/ Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe/ Lipstick: Urban Decay 69

I just wanted something really feminine and chic for show.  My love for floral print will never die out and the colors are perfect for fall.  I decided on nude heels because I didn't want too much black. I like the balance it created.  This dress really fit like a glove I just wish it wasn't so hot out that day! It was way too humid and I had a Ross Gellar moment trying to get out of this dress.  If you've watched friends and seen the episode where Ross tries to take off his leather pants you'll know what I mean LOL!
I brought so many bags with me and literally used this one almost every day as you've seen in my posts.  I'm kind of obsessed with it!  This hairstyle has also become a new favorite of mine.  I think it adds a sophisticated feel to the outfit. And as always, I had to finish the look off with a red lip!

Hope you all have a fab weekend and hope you liked my NYFW outfits!
